HISTORY OF COMPANY
IN THE BEGINNING:
In 1989, Judith Martin joined
her mother, Gloria Moroni
and formed M & M Sales.
Gloria and Judith
conducted
their first sale together in
March of 1989.
EXPERIENCE,
EDUCATION, AWARDS,
AND OWNERSHIP:
With much instruction from
Gloria, Judith learned the business step by step, and
soon joined her mother in
the
appraisal business. In 1994
Judith attended formal classes
in appraisal practice, theory
and methodology
thru the International Society of
Appraisers. She was awarded
her Certification in 1997 and
the following
year began to
instruct for the ISA the exact
classes she had taken. Thru the years they
worked hand in hand.
Currently Judith is the sole owner of
M & M Sales.
She also is currently a member of the Executive
Committee of the Board of
Directors of the International Society of Appraisers.
JUDITH"S TREASURES AT A NEW LOCATION:
An upscale consignment boutique in Wheaton, IL, The Perfect Thing, was
the necessary next step for
M & M Sales. Beginning in October 2003, Judith
Martin and her staff were able to apply their expertise to
selling
individual items as well as entire estates. Whether you are looking for the
perfect piece of furniture or
accessory for your home, or you would like to
sell a few of your own items at their market value, The Perfect
Thing is the
perfect place. The Perfect Thing is managed by Kate Martin. This is now a
three generation
family run business.
SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCES:
From 1999 thru 2001, Judith was a guest appraiser for the PAX Network show
"Treasures in your Home."
The show was cancelled by the Network in
February of 2001. Since that time she has been a guest appraiser
on the
"Sally Jesse Raphael" show from time to time.
Judith is also a paid guest speaker for many local groups and would be happy
to speak to your group should
the need arise. She has spoken to local
collectors' clubs, women's groups, professional groups (Banks,
Credit
Unions, Lawyers, Insurance Agents, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary). You can
contact her directly
for fees and arrangements.
